A Little about me...
Hello everyone!! My name is Laura Davies and I am here to walk with you on your journey to reconnect with your strength, wisdom and magic within.
I have been drawn to the healing arts for as long as I can remember and have been working with the mind, body and soul for over 20 years. I began my wellness facilitator journey as a Registered Massage Therapist. I continued to grow and add to my journey and became certified in Onsen, Reiki, Craniosacral and Somatic Emotional Release therapy. This has allowed me to help people along their own healing journeys with different offerings and insights.
I was drawn to yoga after a difficult pregnancy with my daughter to aid in my own recovery and healing. From my first class I was hooked! It became a passion and a means of healing, managing my autoimmune disease and overall wellbeing. I instantly loved the mind, body and breath connection and immediately felt the deep impact it made. I have personally practiced yoga for 15 years.
In 2017 I took the first step on my teaching journey with becoming a kids yoga teacher through YOGA IN MY SCHOOL. I taught at my children's school and was a part of workshops focused on kids mental health and wellbeing. In 2024 the stars aligned and I had the opportunity to become a RYT200. I completed my training in the Ambassador Yoga Program at Lahari Studio. I will be continuing on my journey of learning towards my RYT500 to be able to offer more to my students.
My goal is to offer a safe, welcoming and inclusive space to my students to show up as they are in that moment. Life happens and times can be busy or stressful. I want to offer a place for my students to move through the body with breath and awareness. My classes will always have modifications and options to allow everyone and all abilities the benefits of the yoga and finding that magic within!
What are the benefits of yoga?
Practicing yoga has many benefits! It is a holistic approach to overall health and wellbeing. It connects the mind and body with the breath creating awareness in the present moment. It aides in healthy joints, mobility, balance, flexibility, healthy aging and mental wellness. These are just a few of the many benefits this ancient practice has to offer.
Do I need to be flexible to do yoga?
Yoga is not about being flexible, it is about connecting breath with mindfulness, movement and honoring where you are at that day. Holding space and grace for showing up just as you are on your mat. With regular consistent practice flexibility can improve over time but it is not a requirement.
What will I need to bring to class?
A yoga mat, water bottle, yoga blocks and a towel or blanket or both to cushion your joints on the floor if you need extra cushioning and for savasana! Make sure to wear comfortable stretchy clothing you can move easily in.
